Company Description

We source and sells luxury certified Fairtrade and organic cotton bed, bath, and nursery linens to homes and hotels internationally and is one of the few companies in the UK to have organic textile certification to the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS).  No harsh chemicals are used in growing or processing organic textiles, so the cotton retains its softness and purity; making them ideal for allergy or eczema sufferers, young and old. Crafted only from luxurious long staple cottons which come from mature, top quality cotton bolls, means the bedding is wonderfully smooth and comfortable to sleep in, the towels plush and pampering. Lastly, the attention to quality, craftsmanship and original design ensures linens that are long lasting as well as beautiful.

Our certified organic supply chain was set up from scratch so we have the ability to custom source for clients and source internationally for hotels, luxury yachts, independent retailers, clients and interior designers. Certifications Information

We have rigorous organic and quality standards in place.

Our organic linens are specified and stringently tested to British, European and International standards against the BS EN ISO relevant standard and certified by The UK Soil Association to the gold standard for organic textiles, the Global Organic Standard (GOTS). Fou furnishings, our suppliers and organic cotton farmers are audited annually to ensure compliance to GOTS, the most stringent standards for organic textiles. We are one of only a few linen companies selling organically certified linens in the UK. So you can sleep well knowing that you are buying the best organic textiles in the best possible quality.

Our testing includes:

colour fastness
allergy inducing dyestuff

The  Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS)
Our organic cotton bedding is independently certified annually by The UK Soil Association to The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), the gold standard for organic textiles. GOTS is a trusted and rigorous certification which is globally recognised. GOTS certification gives assurance on social and environmental responsibility, cotton quality and performance plus an absence of any irritating toxic chemical residues which can sometimes be found in conventional cottons.

The ‘Soil Association Organic’ symbol
This organic stamp of approval tells you that organic standards have been met and checked against the Global Organic Textile Standards at every stage of the linen’s journey, from the field where the cotton was grown, through each stage of textile processing and even sewing, to the final organic cotton product you buy from fou furnishings. Fou furnishings and each member of our supply chain is also independently audited annually.

No compromise
Organic cotton does not mean compromising on quality, design or paying more. We have tried to absorb much of that cost to ensure that the organic cotton bedding you buy from fou furnishings not only looks and feels extremely comfortable and luxurious but gives affordable, lasting quality and design.

Sustainable details

Fair Trade

We have received so many lovely customer comments on the quality of our linens and just how gorgeous our linens feel - which is wonderfully soft, smooth and luxurious, for even the most sensitive skins.

Here are some reasons why.

First the fibre. It's made from only 100 per cent organic cotton, because organic cotton fibres consistently produce better quality yarns than conventional cotton. Because no harsh chemicals are used in growing or processing organic textiles, the cotton retains its softness and purity.

The comfort factor: Our linens are blissfully soft and comfortable because of their long staple cotton fibres, which come from the mature, top quality cotton bolls. The high thread-counts also mean they wash beautifully every time.

Attention to detail at every stage: From design, through fabric finishing to manufacture, we make linens that are long lasting as well as beautiful.  Check out the craftsmanship in our heritage collection Elisabetta, old-fashioned French seams used for added durability in our Shabby Chic bedding or the 'easy to change' duvet cover in our Hotel Collections.

Rigorous quality standards: To make sure that our linens stay looking good, we specify and test our products to international and organic quality standards. Which is why you will find them in discerning homes and five-star hotels.

Look for the label: All fou organic cotton linens are  independently certified. And many are 'dual certified' organic and Fairtrade which is the 'gold standard' for sustainable cotton.

Look for the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) and UK Soil Association logos. These trusted symbols give you assurance of environmental and social responsibility from crop to shop, plus cotton which is completely free of chemical residues. The comfort, softness and zero toxins of our linens make them ideal for allergy or eczema sufferers, young and old, and a boost to health and wellbeing.

Cottoned on? Buying organic cotton linens from fou furnishings® doesn't mean paying more.  It just  means that you get the best quality, sustainable linens, which are wonderful to sleep, bathe or dine with and give your bedroom, bathroom or table that boutique hotel look. With the added benefits of being environmentally friendly and fair trade.
